How to sing well

learn how to sing well

Learning how to sing high notes is one of the biggest challenges you will face as you learn how to sing well. The most common problem for inexperienced singers is to try and reach high notes outside of their comfort zone by pushing the chest register up. This usually leads to a surge of breath, a collapse of the vocal support system and a tightening in the throat and the end result is not very pleasant for the singer or the listener ๐Ÿ™‚

The singing exercise in the video below will help you develop the correct technique to learn how to sing high notes. The concept is that by allowing the thyroid cartilage to tilt – we can stretch and thin out the vocal folds which will help you access those high notes more easily. Pay close attention to the instructions:

This is really helpful. I especially like the check point for determining the falsetto flip. I can thankfully say that I don’t have a rush of air coming from my nostrils as I climb up the scale. ๐Ÿ™‚ I wish I could afford a lesson with you. I am sure you could help my singing a lot. Thanks for all of the help so far. Take care,
    David H.
